The new compensation limits for tribunal claims come into force today.

The maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal is now £56,800, and the limit on a week’s pay has been increased from £270 to £280.

This means, for example, that statutory redundancy payments will be larger from today.

[update 2020 - the figures have gone up every year since and are now £88,519 and £538]
